Montriond, A Picturesque Alpine hamlet Montriond is a small pretty Alpine hamlet which sits along the valley floor
from Morzine and down the valley from Avoriaz. It has a quaint little centre
with the town hall, church restaurant, hotel , bar, grocery store and outdoor
sports wear shop.
What makes Montriond so special however is it’s lake, the third largest in the area, it is a natural beauty spot with stunning views of the Roc D’Enfer. There are 2 restaurants Le Verdoyant and Le Bout Du Lac with local speciality menus and stunning views, there are also and plenty of grassy banks for taking a picnic. Just a few kilometers up from the lake is Lindaret Village,
home to many great mountain restaurants and lots of goats! The views from the restaurant terraces are stunning and the children love feeding the goats, a nice place stop for thirty and hungry walkers and bikers alike.

 We all had an amazing time and the Alps really lived up to all the stories we'd heard from other bikers. The chalet facilities were spot on, clean and well appointed kitchen and bathrooms, which made it easy to return home each night to relax after a hard day in the hills - Dave Branfield, Aug 06, Martinet.  Fireworks At Lake MontriondThe highlight of the lakes year is the firework display organized every year on the Saturday at the end of the first week of August. The general idea is to take a large picnic, and a nice bottle of rose and enjoy the afternoon/evening sun, bands start from 4pm onwards and there are lots of craft and food stalls. There is a display by the local paragliding schools with some amazing aerial acrobatics and water landings, fireworks kick off about 10pm. |

Lac Du Montriond has a specially sectioned off swimming lake
for families and children, an area for canoeing and marked itineraries for
bikers and walkers.
