Driving To The French Alps

For those who are self-driving it takes only 8 hours from Calais and is motorway all of the way except for the last 20 minutes. We have designated parking places at the chalets. We can give you directions over the phone and you can also look at www.iti.fr to help plan your route.

To check ferry routes & prices, go to aferry.co.uk

There is also the Eurotunnel.

Car Hire At Geneva

Please note that international flights all come into the Swiss side of Geneva airport so before May 2016 it made sense to hire a car from the Swiss side of the airport as it is easier as you land on this side of the airport and also for getting to Morzine it is easier to go on the Swiss motorway and drive into France rather than navigate your way through Geneva centre. However, new EU regulations have been introduced that don't allow you to drive a non-eu registered car into a EU country so either hire from the French side or if you want to hire from the Swiss side (which makes more sense logistically) check before booking that you will be allowed to drive your hire car into FRANCE! For more information see this Blog from Carjet.
