Montriond is a beautiful alpine hamlet on the edge of Morzine. It sits on the road that takes your directly up to the Ardent telecabine meaning you can be in the heart of the Portes du Soleil in moments. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday whilst still having the entire ski resort of Morzine on your doorstep.
Montriond itself has a little shop, restaurant and popular bar so when you return to your chalet in the evening you’re still able to enjoy some lively apres if you want. Montriond is also home to the stunning Lac Montriond which is beautiful both in winter and summer. The restaurants around the lake stay open throughout the day offering hot drinks, beers and delicious local wines. It’s the perfect place to go for a walk if you fancy a day off the slopes.
Montriond Telecabine Access To Avoriaz
Montriond is a 5 minute drive away from the Ardent telecabine which takes you straight up into the Lindarets bowl. If you stay at Brown Bear Lodge your driver will take you to this lift in the morning and pick you up in the late afternoon to bring you home in time for dinner. If you decide to cut your ski day short, there’s also a regular ski bus that drives straight past the chalet. You really couldn’t be in a better location for reaching the main ski area of the Portes du Soleil.
Similarly, Morzine is only 5 minutes from Montriond if you prefer to ski Morzine and Les Gets when you’re here. If you’re looking for a day away from the slopes you can also walk to Morzine along the river in less than 30 minutes. Montriond, with it’s lovely church, brick buildings and stunning views is an ideal spot for a winter holiday.
