Swimming in Morzine & Avoriaz

The swimming complex in Morzine is a true gem, offering an indoor 25m pool and two smaller pools for children. Outside, you’ll find an Olympic-sized pool (50m x 21m), a shallow children’s pool, and a baby pool with slides and water jets. The complex also features a large water slide, a bouncy castle, table tennis, children’s climbing frames, a multi-activity area with mini-football, basketball, and handball, beach volleyball pitches, a bar and restaurant, and grassy areas for sunbathing and picnics. Guests staying in Morzine with a Multi Pass can enjoy this fantastic facility for FREE, and Reach4thealps guests can purchase the pass for just €3 a day.

Another must-visit is Aquariaz, a water park in Avoriaz designed as an aquatic paradise in the mountains. It features a river with a gentle current, an aquatic halfpipe, a water playhouse, a paddling pool, a large pool with a climbing wall, and a Tarzan rope swing. For relaxation, there are massage benches and an open-air jacuzzi heated to 34°C. This park is ideal for family fun, perfect for both good and bad weather days.

Swimming in the lakes & Water sports

For a more natural swimming experience, nothing beats the Alpine lakes surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. Enjoy a swim at the lake in Les Gets, Lake Montriond, or take a short 30-minute drive down the valley to the majestic Lake Geneva.

The lake at Les Gets is manned by lifeguards from June 28th to August 31st and is FREE with the Multi Pass. The water temperature averages 22 degrees throughout the summer. There is a designated paddling area for babies and toddlers, a water slide, a children’s playground, a beach volleyball pitch, pony rides, and a fun bungee. The lake has a roped-off swimming area and another section for playing with dinghies and inflatables. Picnic tables are available, and a lovely restaurant overlooks the lake, offering a perfect spot for a meal with a view.

Lake Montriond is a vast lake ideal for swimming and water sports. It features a smaller, shallow lake perfect for families, complete with a waterfall and beach area that kids love. Lifeguards are on duty at the smaller lake during July and August. The larger lake, with an average summer temperature of 19 degrees, offers kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals.

For those on an extended holiday, a trip to Thonon is highly recommended. Visit the swimming pool complex on the lakefront or one of the many free beaches at Amphion, Sciez, or Port De Sechez. The crystal-clear waters are perfect for a variety of water sports, including stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, or pedalo rentals.
