Les Gets is connected to the Portes du Soleil via the Chavannes telecabine, you then ski over to Morzine, and via Morzine can connect to Avoriaz and the wider PDS via the Super Morzine Telecabine.

Les Gets is also home to the Mont Chery ski area, which offers a great selection of wide runs that are great for practising your carving. The Mont Chery area is often overlooked, and so even during busy periods, you can enjoy quieter slopes here, although bear in mind there are no green runs, so it is not ideal for complete beginners. At the top of Mont Chery, you get stunning views of the peaks of Les Gets and Morzine.

Perched high above the valley at 1,800 metres, Avoriaz is a purpose-built, ski-in/ski-out resort at the heart of the Portes du Soleil. Its central location provides seamless access to neighbouring resorts, including Morzine, Châtel and the Swiss ski areas. Avoriaz is also home to the infamous aprés bar La Folie Douce, which has live music and DJ sets all through the season.

Accessible via Avoriaz or the Ardent gondola, Montriond-Ardent ski area is a popular destination within the Portes du Soleil. Often referred to as the Lindaret bowl, this area is a great place to head to for lunch or a quick snack break, with a great range of restaurants and bars to choose from at altitude. Families and beginners can also take advantage of dedicated learning areas nearby, while more experienced skiers have easy access to challenging runs, off-piste terrain and the renowned Stash snow park in Avoriaz.

Chatel offers direct access to an extensive network of pistes across both France and Switzerland. From the Super Châtel and Linga lift areas, you can easily explore neighbouring resorts, including Morgins, Torgon, Avoriaz and Morzine. Châtel caters to all abilities, with gentle beginner slopes, challenging red and black runs, and easy access to some of the best off-piste terrain in the Portes du Soleil.

Ski Pass Information

There are two types of ski pass available.

A Morzine-Les Gets ski pass, which covers 160km of piste and covers all of the slopes in Les Gets (both the Chavannes side and Mont Chery) and over to Morzine. This is in itself a large area and plenty big enough for a weekend trip or for a week skiing for beginner and intermediate skiers.

A full area Portes Du Soleil ski pass covers 650km of piste and includes 12 resorts between France and Switzerland. We recommend the full area pass if you are a higher intermediate skier or boarder, or if you are coming at the beginning or the end of the season.
