Set in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the festival features performances from international DJs and live artists alongside themed parties, slope-side stages, comedy events, wellness sessions, and unique mountain experiences. By day, visitors can explore over 600km of pistes, while evenings bring concerts, club nights, and lively après-ski across Avoriaz.

What you need to know about the best apres in the world

Snowboxx is celebrated as being great value for money- you get a ski trip and a music festival for the price of one! 

  • Ticket + Accommodation Package: choose this option to get your wristband for the week, and Snowboxx will sort out your accommodation within walking distance of the main festival events. Lift pass not included with this ticket, but you are often able to receive an exclusive discount on a lift pass.   
  • Ticket + Lift Pass Package: choose this option to get your wristband for the week and the lift pass of your choice. This gives you the flexibility to pick your own accommodation 

There are also stand along tickets available for if you just want to go to certain days/events 

All Snowboxx packages include your festival wristband, which gives you access to sets showcasing international DJs and live music acts, legendary après-ski parties and open-air mountain concerts. There are also themed events and mountain activities to enjoy alongside days of skiing or snowboarding in the beautiful Portes du Soleil.  

Snowboxx is made up of 5 stages

  • Snowboxx main stage: The biggest of the stages, the main stage is an open-air arena right on the slopes
  • The Folie Douce: This legendary apres-ski venue is located in Avoriaz. Home to a host of performers bringing high-energy sets to the slopes
  • The Boxx: This indoor late-night spot lets you party on into the night, opening when the main stage closes to keep the party vibes alive.
  • Stag: When the stag takes over the main stage expect big energy and a late night 
  • Downtown: Located in Avoriaz this street is home to 6 bustling clubs providing mountain night out energy 

Each day, a secret set takes place at a hidden location somewhere on the slopes. Revealed only on the morning of the performance, the mystery venue invites you to discover some of the most stunning areas of the Portes du Soleil. Ski or snowboard to the secret stage and catch your favourite DJs in a unique mountain setting—an unforgettable experience of a party brought direct to the pistes

Yes! There is a whole host of activities that take place throughout the week on top of all the music events, performances and DJ sets for anyone who doesn't want to ski/board, including:

For beginners or first-time skiers, Snowboxx offers a beginner's package designed to help you enjoy the slopes. The package includes: 3 group lessons, ski or board hire and helmet hire. 

The festival events are primarily aimed at adults aged 18+. Mountain weather and snow conditions can vary. Comfortable winter clothing and suitable ski equipment are recommended

    Winter Lift Openings

    The PDS lift network opens up to skiiers and snowboarders every year in December. The official open dates are not announced yet but usually the lifts in Avoriaz open up first around the 11th December!

    Rock the Pistes

    Rock the Pistes Festival takes place across the Portes du Soleil every March, running on the 3rd weeknd of March every year for the past decade. This unique open air festial brings incredible acts and performances right to the slopes in different locations accross the PDS over the week.

    Skiing in the Portes du Soleil offers an unparalleled experience across one of the largest linked ski areas in the world, straddling the French and Swiss Alps.
