Le Mont Caly
A gentle walk through the hamlet of Mont Caly
If you’re looking to swap the crowds for calm, Le Mont Caly is your spot. Just above Les Gets and close to Morzine, this little mountain hamlet feels like a well-kept secret. Expect wide open meadows, quiet forest trails, and gorgeous views of Mont Blanc. The walking here is gentle and scenic - perfect for a relaxed afternoon hike or even a lazy stroll with a coffee stop. It’s one of those places that makes you slow down, breathe deep, and take it all in.
Cascade du Nyon
A family-friendly forest trail from Morzine - Nyon Cascade
The Cascade de Nyon is a beautiful and easily accessible waterfall located just a short 30-minute walk from the centre of Morzine. The trail, often referred to as 'Le Chemin du Renard', follows a peaceful forested path alongside a stream, making it perfect for families and casual hikers. The waterfall itself drops about 10 meters into a rocky gorge and is especially impressive after rainfall or when frozen in winter. At the top, a wooden footbridge and viewing platform offer scenic views of the falls. Nearby, the Cascade de Nyon restaurant provides refreshments. Adventurous visitors can try canyoning, a treetop zipline, or a cascade treetop adventure course above the waterfall.
Brochaux Waterfall
A family favourite, from Lindarets Goat Village - Brochaux Waterfall
Starting at the famous Lindarets Goat Village, you will walk for about 30 minutes along a well-marked trail to reach the beautiful 30m-tall Brochaux waterfall.
Accessible year-round, the setting combines alpine freshness, the soothing sound of rushing water, and the unique charm of roaming goats at the trail’s start. Take a picnic and enjoy an afternoon by the waterfall, or choose from the numerous restaurants and snack bars in the Goat Village or nearby Lindarets bowl, which offer stunning mountain views to soak up as you refuel at the end of your walk.
Tour du Lac de Montriond

Conquer the 3 highest peaks of Morzine
For walkers looking for more of a challenge, consider completing one of the emblematic Morzine peaks with trails easily accessible from the centre.
Pointe de Nyon
6.0km, altitude 2019m. Approx 2.5-3hours
Walk with the eagles as you hike the iconic Point de Nyon. This hike is relatively quick, taking around 2.5 to 3 hours to reach the peak at 2019m, and is the perfect introduction to high-altitude hiking in Morzine.
This route has the added advantage of having a range of starting points and links with the chair lifts. This ability to adapt the route allows hikers of all levels to enjoy panoramic views, test their nerve at the Pas de L'Aigle and enjoy a typical Savoyarde lunch at their choice of alpine restaurant.
Pointe de Ressachaux
10.5km, altitude 2173m. Approx 4.45 hours
A difficult and demanding trail, Ressachaux sits in the heart of the Chablais massif and is a memorable and rewarding climb for experienced hikers.
The start of the route can be found behind Chalet Cairn Lodge. From here you will rapidly climb through the forest towards the chalets of Morzinette at 1,630m. This alpine hamlet is perfectly placed at the base of the peak of Ressachaux, offering a chance to replenish your water bottles before conquering the peak. Continuing on the route, you will climb up to Col du Pic a Talon at 2043m and traverse the Tranchants ridge. The end of the route requires attention with moderate technical difficulty, loose ground and a steep drop.
The panoramic view from the top is breathtaking. On a clear day granting views of Mont Blanc, the Dents Blanches, the Dents du Midi and the Vallee d'Aulps.
Pointe de Nantaux
10.1km, altitude 2170m. Approx 5 hours
Another steep and demanding climb, the route de Nantaux starts a little outside of Morzine at the telephone box in the hamlet of Essert-Pierre. Follow the signposted trail through the forest, out and up onto tall grassy meadows. This last stretch traversing the mountain fields leaves you exposed to the elements, so be sure to have proper gear to protect yourself come sun, wind or rain. The fantastic view from the top of Morzine and Lake Montriond is one of our favourites. You will also be able to see Lake Geneva, Avoriaz and, on a clear day, in the distance, the famous Mont Blanc.
Make sure to take plenty of water with you, as there are no restaurants or water points on this trail.
