Canyoning Practical Info

Canyoning is a half-day activity, comfortably taking about 3 hours. You will begin in the Nyon car park, where you will be kitted out with wetsuits, helmets and harnesses. Your guide will then take you up to the starting point - a bridge 42m above the river that you will abseil off and into the canyon below.

Canyoning is for anyone over 12 years old. It requires confidence in water and good physical condition as you navigate the rivers' white waters with jumps into rock pools and slides down waterfalls. The jumps are not obligatory - you can choose to skip any jump, opting to walk down that section of the river; however, it may mean missing out on a following obstacle.

There are some guides who offer a children's canyoning experience that is suitable for ages 8 and up. You can join this adventure or leave them with the experienced guides, who will ensure their fun and safety as you follow the forest trail on foot, which has some great spots to get action photos of your little adventurers!

The guides will provide you with: a padded neoprene wetsuit to stay warm in the icy waters, a helmet and a harness for safety.

You need to take along your swimsuit and an old pair of footwear, which you will wear during the activity, a towel for afterwards, and of course, your sense of adventure!
