The Trail des Hauts Forts brings together trail runners from across Europe for one of the Alps' most iconic mountain running events. Several race formats available — including 23km, 36km, 52km and a relay event. 

The Trail des Hauts Forts caters to a range of abilities, from experienced trail runners to those taking on their first major mountain challenge. All routes begin in Morzine and finish in Avoriaz, featuring significant elevation gain, technical terrain, and breathtaking panoramic views throughout.

Everything you need to know about the event

Races begin early morning from Morzine, with staggered start times depending on distance. Bib collection is open from two days before the event and from 5am the morning of the event. It is recommended to collect your bib the day before, where possible, to avoid the last-minute rush. Finish line and event atmosphere continue throughout the day in Avoriaz.

Advance registration is required. Participants must register online in advance and choose from several race formats.

After registration, you will receive a personal QR code that can be used to collect your race bibs before the event. Mandatory trail equipment may apply depending on race distance.

The event is easily accessible from central Morzine, with spectator areas available at key points along the route and in Avoriaz. You will follow well-marked trail along the course with feed and refreshment stations along the way.

For anyone meeting a runner at the finish in Avoriaz, you can get here by car following the mountain road, by shuttle bus or by Prodain telecabine (accessible by shuttle bus).
