Fishing spots in and around Morzine
A small artificial lake tucked amongst alpine trees stocked with fario and rainbow trout. A fishing license is required and is available for purchase at the Mines d'Or Restaurant.
The picturesque Lac Montriond is well stocked with Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char and Minnows. Line fishing is popular at the start of the season with fly fishing becoming more popular as the summer goes on.
A fishing license is required and can be purchased online or at Ardent Sports in the village of Montriond.
This mountain lake at 1500m altitued is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Brown Trouts. You can access the lake on foot, about 20 minutes from the Chavannes telecabine.

A favourite spot for river fishing enthusiasts, the River Dranse is home to wild fario trout and lake trout from Lake Geneva. The river is 21km long and known to be wild and challenging for fishing. It runs through Morzine to Thonon Les Bains with fishing tributaries dotted along the way.
A valid river fishing license is required. They are available to purchase online, at Ardent Sports in Montriond or at the Morzine tourist office.
